The Investor Confidence Project Europe is proud to announce the introduction of the ICP Software Provider Credential and welcomes any building renovation project management software company to work with us to achieve the standard and receive the credential. |
While the ICP Protocols create a standardised roadmap for originating projects, building owners, investors, utilities and programmes often struggle to evaluate proposals, with some capital providers citing weeks of effort chasing paper just to get all the documentation in order to even start evaluating a project. With the introduction of the ICP Software Provider Credential programme, which is underpinned by the ICP Europe User Requirements Specification, software providers will now be able to develop an automated process for creating, documenting, and managing access the range of documentation necessary to facilitate technical validation under the ICP process.
The ICP Europe User Requirements Specification has been developed with the invaluable feedback of software providers and other key stakeholders. It is designed to ensure that a provider’s product (software/application either installed or web-based) can support the requirements of the ICP Protocols and ICP System. Credentialed Software Providers will be hosted on a dedicated ICP Europe web page, and any and all organisations involved in the origination of projects that ICP interacts with will be encouraged to review this page.
Using a Credentialed Software Provider's solution, Project developers will be able to standardise business practices and be able to bring standardised Investor Ready Energy Efficiency™ projects to a range of investors. Building Owners will have increased confidence in projected savings knowing that standard methods and documentation are in place and are easily third party validated. Investors, programmes, and utilities can accept standardised projects that have been verified by independent engineers, reducing overhead and redundancy - weeks of chasing down data and complex evaluation of uniquely engineered projects will be reduced to the click of a mouse.
In virtually all established markets, whether talking about car loans or timeshares, standardisation and automation has helped to accelerate underwriting, reduce long-term liability, and spur investment. Only half of the estimated €60 – 100 billion investment needed annually to achieve Europe’s 2020 building energy efficiency targets is being met, according to the United Nations Environment Programme. In order to substantially increase this, the energy efficiency industry will need to scale up its capacity dramatically while streamlining and reducing transaction costs. The ICP Software Provider Credential is one more important step towards achieving an efficient market. Standardisation of documentation is a critical step to enable senior markets to invest in energy efficiency project finance as a unique asset class, and streamline and reduce transaction costs for project origination channels by harmonising the requirements across programmes and funders.
