Following the recent publication of the ICP Europe Protocols, we are already working hard to incorporate these new standardised underwriting tools into pilot projects, programmes and platforms to help open up the €100bn energy renovation market across Europe.
One such project is the Sustainable Energy Asset Evaluation and Optimisation Framework (SEAF) led by Joule Assets Europe which is creating a platform to improve access to energy efficiency and energy management project finance and insurance for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The €1.7 million SEAF project funded by the European Commission's Horizon 2020 is highly complementary to the Investor Confidence Project, providing a streamlined software platform that enables independent project valuation, insurance and standardisation based on the ICP Protocols. The overall objective of the SEAF tool is to support millions in energy efficiency investments for European SMEs, job growth and increased energy and CO2 savings.
The development partners include Joule Assets Europe AB, HSB Engineering Insurance Ltd, Investor Confidence Project Europe (represented by Verco), Servizi Energia Ambiente, and the Universities of Manchester and Thessaloniki.
The SEAF team are keen to ensure that the tool is able to meet the needs of the European energy efficiency market and would like to invite any interested members of the ICP Europe community to join the SEAF Stakeholder Group.
The benefits of involvement for ICP stakeholders include; the opportunity to trial and become first users of a project evaluation and assessment platform based on the standardised ICP tools; gain access to market data concerning energy efficiency, demand response and energy management programs and market values across Europe; and benefit from free access to expert workshops, webinars and one on one engagement with industry experts in project development, finance and risk analysis.
The project commenced in February 2016 and is now in the construction and testing phase, so now is an exciting time to join.
The SEAF team will be hosting a webinar in the coming weeks to showcase the first version of the platform and will also be holding multiple free Investor Days workshops, the first to be held in June in Barcelona, in which all SEAF Stakeholder Group members will be invited to participate.
As for our own ally network, participation is free and there are no mandatory requirements of Stakeholder Group members.
If you are interested in joining the SEAF Stakeholder Group, please send your name and contact details to Caroline Milne at cmilne@jouleassets.com or +32 487 54 39 07.
Further details on the group are available here.
